![]() Although it would have been nice to have photographs of the children on the web site it was decided, after receiving guidance from educationalists, that the children should not be identifiable. We also looked at the web sites of similar organisations, especially World Vision to see how they handled this very important matter. We therefore strive to follow World Vision's policies on Child Security, Child Privacy and Child Dignity. For more information please refer to the child protection section of the World Vision web site. Feedback from the Students
Students are expected to write to TATSA at least twice per year to tell us about themselves and how they are progressing at school. Most of these letters will be in Thai, although older students might feel comfortable to write in English. The following list shows the nick-names of all 40 students currently supported by TATSA. The students are identified only by an invented nick-name, not their own, and any other identifying information within letters has been overwritten. This is to preserve the security, privacy and dignity of the children. The nick-names shown as a link have submitted letters to TATSA. Some letters recount direct experiences of the tsunami, more recent letters tell of how they are now coping. By today, numbers of those students are studing at the University.
